being terrible with the schedule again. hope everyone had a lovely holiday–mine was great up until i got the phone call about my grandmother.

so, i’m actually going to take a few minutes to tell you guys just how cool my grandmother was. for starters, she swore and smoked like a sailor. every cigarette was stained with her bright red lipstick. she kept her hair dyed dark brown, and carefully curled in a style that hasn’t been popular since the fifties. she had cat-eyed glasses, and an oven that spewed cookies and love.

she raised four kids alone, and was crafted from the essence of badass.

she lived on the opposite end of the country. i only got to visit her a handful of times. i’m sorry, gramma.
